How do you know an affiliate is right for you?
This is a question we often get asked by clients who go through our AMPP training.

The truth is – you don’t. Making the right commercial decisions always come with a bit of a gamble, however, if you’ve done the groundwork right, and you’re lining up your partner prospecting to your customer avatar correctly there is little that can or should go wrong.
It starts with understanding your customer avatar in great detail. These are some of the questions that you need to ask yourself before you proceed:
- Who are they?
- Where do they hang out?
- What do they like/dislike?
- How do they engage online?
- How do they perceive your brand?
Getting granular on your customer avatar can help you when it comes to performing the perfect affiliate partner discovery and affiliate onboarding for your program.
Then, working backwards from there to check if the partner you’re talking with has the right traffic sources, customer demographics and content to meet your client objective. Reaching out to a new partner is really easy – you can contact them on LinkedIn, Skype or whatever tools you have at your disposal.
