“St. Bens and St. Johns are great institutions of higher education, and their story really needs to be communicated to Minnesota, the Upper Midwest, and across the country,” said Katie Alvino.
After a national survey, the College of Saint Benedict and St. John’s University introduced Alvino as the new Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
The newly created role will start on Monday, August 2nd. As Alvino explains, “This position is a great marketing opportunity I couldn’t miss.”
Alvino brings a strong history of marketing experience and transformative leadership. She has devoted her career to building strong brand development and marketing individuals and teams.
James Maren, SJU’s interim chairman, said: “We are all excited about what she will achieve for St. John and St. Ben as we continue to set the national model for other liberal arts institutions in the United States.”
“Katey’s college and corporate marketing experience will make her a valuable asset for CSB and SJU,” said Laurie Hamen, interim president of CSB. “Her ability to communicate in both traditional and modern media is unmatched.”
Alvino is currently the Director of Marketing and Retailing for Student Affairs at the University of Minnesota, leading a team of 16 marketing communications and retailing staff to serve eight retailers.
